About Us

Our Story

The Full Moon has endured the passing centuries, witnessing various landlords and owners come and go, but it never closed its doors (except during pandemic restrictions). It started as a humble off-sales cider house, gradually expanding into a bar with the present fireplace, snug bar, and an additional tap room for patrons, which continued until the late 1970s. In the late 20th century, a function room with a skittle alley and five bedrooms were added, along with five cottages, bringing the total number of bedrooms to 19, and an indoor swimming pool.

The inn thrived until 2012, gaining recognition for its renowned Sunday lunches and hosting weddings. After a challenging period under administration, the Inn was separated from the cottages and acquired by the current owner in late 2019. The pandemic presented an opportunity to undertake extensive renovations and introduce a spacious terrace. For the first time in its history, the old part of the pub was temporarily closed to guests. During this period, the roof of the old cellar was raised to create a cozy dining room, and the bar area was restored to its original layout with the assistance of our architects, Harrison Brookes, and the designers from Classic Pub Design.

We sincerely hope you enjoy your visit!

Very charming inn. Very clean and loved the décor. The breakfast was excellent. Loved having a pub and restaurant available.
