Our Christmas in the Garden Room
Looking for the perfect venue for your work Christmas party or family gathering? Our recently refurbished Garden Room can seat up to 60 people, with its own bar, roaring fire and views across the garden.
Throughout December, the Garden Room will be full of festive cheer, tastefully decorated with a large Christmas tree — with plenty of room underneath for your gifts!

Local Produce
Much of our produce comes from the local abundance, including our own kitchen garden. Cheddar, a village not far from us, is the birthplace of the world-famous Cheddar cheese. Somerset is also known for its creamy and delicious Brie cheese, both of which are featured on our generous Ploughman's platters. Somerset is also renowned for the quality of its beef, pork, and lamb, which graze on the lush pastures around the pub. Local Penleigh sausages are a favourite on our breakfast menu.

We have just returned from our third stay at the The Full Moon Inn. The 17th-century historic building is beautiful and has been renovated to a very high standard, perfectly blending original character with modern luxury. The room was spacious, featuring high-quality finishes and incredibly comfortable beds. We ate at the restaurant on a couple of nights and the food was outstanding, especially the freshly made, cooked-to-order breakfast. Located in a quiet rural setting yet close to local attractions and convenient as a stop over for longer journeys, it's the ideal base for a peaceful country trip. The staff are attentive and friendly, making you feel right at home. We will definitely be back ....

Visited with my son while staying in the area and couldn’t have had a better experience. We walked in quite late on the Friday evening when they were extremely busy. I mentioned that we hadn’t booked and, although they were fully booked, they very kindly managed to squeeze the two of us in, which was hugely appreciated. The food was exceptional and the service was equally impressive. We enjoyed it so much that we returned over the weekend, and every member of staff we met was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The locals were just as welcoming too, which gave the place a really warm and friendly atmosphere. I would highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area. A huge thank you to the whole team for looking after us and making both me and my son feel so welcome. We’ll definitely return when we’re back in the area!

We stayed here stopping off on our way to Cornwall and what a gorgeous find. When we arrived, the pub had such a welcoming atmosphere, dogs and kids running around. The room was clean, newly refurbished with everything we needed. Breakfast in the morning was superb. Thanks for a great stop off!

Just returned from staying here and we were so impressed with this hidden gem. Rural location but not far from the A36 and just 15 minutes drive from Longleat. We loved both the character of the building and the contemporary/classic interiors. All you need to have a comfortable stay and many well thought of touches in our room that we did appreciate. The food was great too. We enjoyed a generous breakfast (included) and two delicious evening meals plus local cider (very drinkable!). The staff were all friendly, helpful and genuinely nice people.

We stumbled across The Full Moon when looking for someone to stay on our way to Wales. What a find and we will definitely be back for another stay. Great rooms, super clean and well stocked (such as fresh milk and good coffee). We had a wonderful dinner (we both had veggie options for our main - because they were unusual, not your standard veggie options at all) and all really tasty along with an equally good breakfast. Great staff, service , food and atmosphere.
